Candesartan is a tablet containing the active ingredient candesartan cilexetil. It comes in strengths of 2mg, 4mg, 8mg, 16mg and 32mg.
One 8mg tablet per day is the normal starting dose. Your doctor may increase this dose if necessary. If you have kidney or liver problems or are overweight or older, your doctor may prescribe a lower starting dose. You may also need to adjust the dose if it is being used to treat heart disease.
You can skip your Candesartan tablet if you forget to take it. Instead, you can move on to the next dose. Do not increase your dose to make up the difference.
You should not take more Candesartan than you need. If this happens, you should immediately contact your doctor or emergency department.

you are having surgery, including dental surgery; or
you are to undergo anaesthesia and a major surgery or LDL aphaeresis.

Respiratory infection
Low blood pressure
An increased amount of potassium in your blood
Effect on your kidneys, especially if you already have kidney problems or heart failure.
