Kliovance Tablets

Kliovance can only be prescribed by a doctor. Follow the instructions of your doctor. Always read the information leaflet included in the medication packet. To treat your symptoms, your doctor will try to prescribe you a lower dose.

Kliovance should always be taken at the same time every day according to the instructions on the pack.

Kliovance can be started at any time, but you should wait until your bleeding stops before you start treatment if you have your regular periods. You receive the tablets in a disc package to help you remind yourself to take your daily dose.

The general recommendation is to take one Kliovance tablet per day at the same time every day. After you have finished taking all 28 Kliovance tablets, begin a new pack of treatment.

Take a small amount of water and swallow the entire tablet. You can do this with or without food. When you finish one pack, you should immediately start another the next day. You should consult your GP/doctor at least once a year.

For any reason, you forget to take your tablet, make sure you take it right away. If it has been more than 12 hours, then you should skip the missed dose. To make up for the missed dose, do not double your dose.

Kliovance does not have side effects on everyone. However, some people can experience some side effects. Kliovance should not be taken if you have or had any of these conditions:

Breast cancer
Oestrogens sensitive cancer
Unexplained vaginal bleeding
Excessive thickening of the womb lining
Blood clot in a vein
Blood clotting disorder
A disease caused by blood clotting in the arteries
A liver disease
Porphyria
Allergies to any of the ingredients in this medication

Kliovance prescriptions can also be affected by other factors. You should inform your doctor if you have or suspected of having any of the following:

Fibroids inside the womb
Growth of the womb lining outside of your womb
High blood pressure
Diabetes
Gallstones
Migraines or severe headaches
A disease of the immune system that affects many organs
Epilepsy
Asthma
A disease affecting the eardrum and hearing
A very high level of fat in your blood
Fluid retention due to cardiac or kidney problems

Kliovance, like many medicines with active ingredients, can cause side effects or interactions with other medications. It can happen with certain medications:

Medicines for epilepsy
Medicines for tuberculosis
Medicines for HIV infection
Medicines for hepatitis C infections
Herbal remedies containing St John’s Wort.

The other side effects may include:

Headache
Fluid retention
Weight gain
Vaginal inflammation or infection
Nausea
Depression
Breast problems (pain, tenderness, enlargement, swelling)
Back pain

If any of these side effects persist or get worse, you should immediately inform your doctor.
