Femoston contains two female hormones: an oestrogen (oestradiol-hemihydrate) as well as a progestogen. These hormones work together to renew the natural levels of hormones and counter the effects associated with menopause.
Femoston 1/10 and Femoston 2/10 are combined cyclical HRT. Each pack contains 14 tablets that contain only Oestradiol. These tablets are for use for 14 days. The remaining 14 tablets contain Dydrogesterone or Oestradiol, which are used for the remainder of the month.
Femoston 1/10 or 2/10 is prescribed to postmenopausal women if they have not had natural menstrual bleeding for at least six months but have an intact uterus. In certain circumstances, this could cause monthly bleeding.

Take one tablet per day with a glass of water. The tablets have been marked with the days of each week. The tablet for days 1-14 contains the only oestrogen. The tablet for days 15-28 contains both oestrogen and progestogen. You should immediately begin the next pack after you have finished one.
If you have regular periods, you can start Femoston on the first day of bleeding. You can start the medication anytime if you don't have regular periods. You can take Femoston after completing the previous medicine when you are on another type of HRT medication.
Femoston can cause a monthly bleed in many women. However, some will experience no bleeding. If you do notice any irregularities, you should consult your doctor.
