Ramipril relaxes blood vessels to allow blood to flow more easily. It makes it easier for your heart to pump blood to all parts of your body.
Hypertension and heart problems are usually caused by many reasons such as family history, a diet high in salt, or being overweight, or being inactive.
To prevent serious conditions such as stroke, heart attack, or blood clots, it is recommended to make lifestyle changes such as quitting smoking, drinking less, and exercising more.
You can swallow the tablets whole with water with or without food. To help you remember, it is best to take the tablet at the same time every day.
High blood pressure patients usually take 1.25mg to 2.5mg one time a day. However, if your doctor feels you are in need, this can be increased up to a daily maximum of 10mg over time. Ramipril may be used to treat heart disease or heart failure. The dose you receive will vary depending on your condition and response to the medication. You should follow the instructions and consult your doctor if in doubt.
You can skip the Ramipril dosage if you forget to take it, and it is almost time for the next dosage. Do not increase your dose in order to make up for the missed dose.
Ramipril overdoses can be dangerous. You should immediately seek medical attention. An overdose can cause low blood pressure. Symptoms include dizziness or fainting.
