One 8mg tablet per day is the normal starting dose. Your doctor may increase this amount if necessary. If you have kidney or liver problems or are overweight or obese, your doctor may prescribe a lower starting dose. You may also need to adjust the dose if Amias is being used to treat heart disease rather than high blood pressure.
