Elleste Solo MX is a Hormone Replacement Therapy Patch that treats menopausal symptoms, vaginal dryness and hot flushes. When women reach menopause, their ovaries begin to produce less oestrogen, which effectively ends the menstrual cycle. Elleste Solo MX carries a synthetic version of Oestrogen and replaces it in the body to make up for the decrease in oestrogen production. Since most of the problems caused by menopause happen because the body is adjusting to the decreasing levels of estrogen, replacing it with a synthetic source will ultimately relieve the symptoms felt.

After menopause, women are more susceptible to developing osteoporosis, which is a condition that causes fragile bones. Estradot patches may be prescribed to prevent osteoporosis if you are at increased risk.

Ensure to learn to apply the HRT Transdermal patch properly by reding the instruction leaflet. To ensure the patch is put on the clean skin, apply the patch immediately after a shower or bath, or cleaning the target skin. Take the patch from the pouch carefully and be careful not to pull it apart. Remove the protective plastic cover, and be careful not to touch the adhesive. Apply the sticky side to the desired body part by looking for dry, clean and un-hairy areas. Always place the Elleste Solo MX below the waistline, on the lower back or in the buttocks. It is necessary not to apply the patch in the same spot twice as this can cause irritation and redness. You should also avoid using creams, moisturisers, or powders on the same area as it might cause irritation and prevent the patch from sticking to the skin.

If the patch becomes damaged from sweating or vigorous exercise, you can replace it with a new one in a different place. You can decide if you want to continue following your old schedule or if you'll create a new one based on the patch.

Estradot patches are available in different strengths. Your GP or consultant will determine the strength that you should use when you receive them. The standard dose is one patch twice a week unless otherwise advised. Do not use any more than your doctor recommends.

Transdermal patches contain 1.25 mg Oestradiol Hemihydrate. A single patch lasts for three to four days. Do not use more than one patch at a time. Make sure you remove the old one before you place a new one.

Your doctor will need to take into account that the medication is a hormone-replacement therapy. You should not use the patch if you have ever had breast cancer or are suspicious of having it. If you have or are suspicious of having cancer that is sensitive to oestrogen, inform your doctor immediately of this condition. Before you can use the patch, there are many precautions to take. Be sure to consult your doctor before using it.
