Evorel Conti is a continuous sequential Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) that treats menopause symptoms in pre and postmenopausal women.

Women experiencing menopausal symptoms notice a fall in levels of oestrogen production. Evorel Conti is a patch that contains both oestrogen and progestogen and releases them in sequence. The oestrogen-only patch will be used for the first two weeks, then it is combined with the other patch that releases both oestrogen and progestogen for another two weeks. These hormones replenish women's natural levels of oestrogen and counter the effects of menopause.

Each patch has enough medicine to last for 3-4 days. They are then removed and replaced with a new one.

It is very simple to use Evorel Conti.

Begin with the patch that only releases oestrogen for the first two weeks and then switch to the combined hormone patch for the third and fourth week.

Apply the patch to a dry, clean, and hairless area of your skin and press thoroughly to make sure the patch is properly in place.

You can place Evorl patches on your thighs, bottoms, or stomach, or any part you find suitable, but it should not at any time be placed on or around the breasts or under elasticated parts of clothing (like waistbands), or intimate area.

Since each patch has enough medicine that lasts for three to four days, you will be only required to change the patches twice a week. The change must be done on the same two days each week. For example, you can change your Evorel patch every Monday and Thursday.

You should immediately replace your patch if it falls off or becomes damaged. When you get to your regular patch-changing day, change to a new one. Do not apply the same patch to the skin twice when changing patches. This will avoid irritation of the skin. Also, apply the new patch on a slightly different area of the skin.

There should not be a gap between each patch. After you have removed one, apply the next one immediately.

It is advisable to leave the patch on during exercise, showers, or baths.

Evorel Conti patches should only be used under your doctor’s supervision.

Evorel Conti patches cover a surface area of 16 cm. They contain 3.2 mg of oestradiol, which corresponds to a release rate of 50 micrograms every 24 hours, and 11.2 mg of norethisterone acetate, which corresponds to a release rate of 170 micrograms every 24 hours.

You should stop using too much Evorel Sevi. Although it is unlikely, symptoms such as tender breasts or vaginal bleeding could occur. Contact your doctor if you continue to experience symptoms.

Immediately change the patch when you realise that you have been forgetting to change it for some time. Regardless of what day it happens, keep changing the newly applied patch on the same days as your original schedule. The dose should not be doubled-up at all.

You should consult your doctor before using Evorel Conti. Do not use Evorel Conti if:

you have or suspected of breast cancer
you have cancer that is sensitive to oestrogens
you have unexplained bleeding from your vaginal area
you have excessive thickening in your womb lining

fibroids inside your womb
growth of the womb lining outside of your womb

Evorel Conti is an active ingredient medication and can affect or be affected by the following medicines, and you should consult your doctor before starting the usage of Evorel Conti:

Epilepsy medications
Tuberculosis medicines
HIV medicine
Herbal remedies containing St John’s Wort
Other anti-infection medications

HRT medication may increase your risk of excessive thickening of the lining of your womb, cancer of womb lining, or breast cancer, so observe your breast regularly and inform your doctor of any changes you notice.

Blood clots are more common in HRT users than non-users, particularly in the first year. You should be alert for signs of a blood clot and consult your doctor if you suspect any blood clot.

Evorel Conti may cause the following side effects:

The patch may irritate the skin
Breast pain
Itchy or irritable skin
Dizziness or headaches
Mood swings or depression-like feeling
Diarrhoea or stomach pain

Weight gain

If any of these side effects remain or get worse or you experience any serious side effect, inform your doctor immediately.
