Estradot can only be prescribed by a doctor. Follow the instructions of your doctor. Always read the information leaflet included in the medication packet. Estradot is available in many doses. Your doctor will try to give you the lowest possible dose to ease your symptoms.
Apply the patch to a dry, clean, and hairless area of your skin and press thoroughly to make sure the patch is properly in place.
You can place Estradot patches on your thighs, bottoms, or stomach, or any part you find suitable, but it should not at any time be placed on or around the breasts or under elasticated parts of clothing (like waistbands), or intimate area.
Estradot is an adhesive patch to be worn constantly until the time comes to replace it. The Estradot patch should be changed twice weekly, approximately every 3-4 days. It is best to replace it on the same days each week. For example, you can change your Estradot patch every Monday and Thursday.
If you are using any type of HRT treatment or if you have been using a continuous combined HRT product, you can begin with Estradot on any convenient day. If you are changing from a sequential HRT treatment, you should begin with Estradot on the next day of completing your previous cycle.
If you are currently not using any form of HRT or if you have been using a continuous combined HRT product, you can start to use Estradot on any convenient day. If you are changing from a cyclic or sequential HRT treatment, you should start to use Estradot on the day after you complete your previous cycle.
Avoid applying the patch to the waistline as it can be rubbed by clothing. Try to change the spot slightly each time you change your patch so that the skin does not become irritated.
It is advisable to leave the patch on during exercise, showers, or baths.
Estradot patches should only be used under your doctor’s supervision.
Immediately change the patch when you realise that you have been forgetting to change it for some time. Regardless of what day it happens, keep changing the newly applied patch on the same days as your original schedule. The dose should not be doubled-up at all.
