Using it outside your anus: Apply a small amount of the ointment to your finger. Spread it gently around the area where your anus is. Don't rub the ointment into your skin.
Using it inside your anus: Use the applicator inside the anus by screwing it onto the tube's neck and gently pressing down on the tube to fill the tube with ointment. Place the applicator in your anus (back passage) gently and carefully. Gently squeeze the tube and then slowly pull the applicator out. It will release one dose of the ointment. After each use, clean and dry the applicator.
Scheriptoct must only be used twice daily unless otherwise prescribed. Fast relief can be achieved by applying the ointment up to four times per day in the initial days.
