Incruse Ellipta is a treatment for COPD that prevents breathlessness and reduces the frequency of sudden attacks.
The medication's active ingredient (a bronchodilator), becomes effective when it is taken daily. It relaxes the muscles in the lungs, airways and lungs, making it easier to breathe in air.
Before you start taking this medication, your doctor or pharmacist will explain how to use the inhaler properly. There is a mouthpiece on the top of the inhaler, a cover to keep it from being used and a counter at the front that shows how many doses remain. The inhaler is already designed to release the right amount of medication so you don't need to shake it before using it.
Hold the inhaler upright until you hear a click. Take a deep breath and exhale. Next, place the inhaler in front of your mouth.
Take a deep, steady inhale and hold it for at least 30 seconds. Take the inhaler out of your mouth and exhale slowly. After using the inhaler, replace the cover and wipe it clean with dry tissue. After using the medication, clean your mouth and brush your teeth.
One puff per day is the recommended dose. The medicine's effects last for approximately 24 hours. Follow the instructions of your doctor. Do not take any other dose unless instructed to.
You should not forget to take your Incruse Ellipta. Instead, skip the missed dose and go straight on to the next one. Do not double your dose to make up the one you missed.
You should not take more Incruse Ellipta than you are supposed to. Contact your doctor immediately. Overdose can cause your heart to beat faster than normal, visual disturbances, or dry mouth.
