It is important to take Imigran as soon as possible after a migraine attack. However, it can be used at any stage of the attack.
Sumatriptan is the active ingredient in Imigran tablets. It is a medication that has been classified as a serotonin-agonist. It is a painkiller used to treat migraine attacks.
Do not take another dose of the medication if the first dose does not relieve your migraine. It has been shown that taking another tablet is not effective. You should consult your doctor if you have a migraine.
If your migraines are not relieved by the first dose, but you feel the need to take the medication again, you may take it up to two hours later.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage of Imigran. You should not take more than 2 doses of Imigran within 24 hours. Do not use the same medication to treat an attack.
If your migraine headaches persist, or if they are severe, consult your doctor.
Migraine should not be prevented by using Imigran. It is not recommended for this purpose.
Within 30 minutes of starting the medication, you may feel warmth, heaviness or pressure in some parts of your body. You should see your doctor immediately if the pain or heaviness persists for more than 2 hours or becomes severe. If your doctor tells you not to take more tables, do so immediately.
Imigran may cause drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you feel this way.
Within 24 hours, you are limited to two doses Imigran.
