Treclin Gel has two active ingredients:
Clindamycin is an antibiotic that kills acne-causing bacteria found on the skin.
Tretinoin is a substance that reduces the adhesion of skin cells. It helps shed dead skin cells instead of them blocking follicles.
These two active ingredients are combined to treat acne symptoms like blackheads, whiteheads pustules, redness, and pustules. Combining the active ingredients is more effective than using them separately.
Do not use Treclin Gel for longer than three months without consulting a doctor or being carefully evaluated. You may not see any improvements for several weeks after starting treatment.
You can always skip the forgotten dose and apply the next one at a regular time. Do not double the dosage of Treclin Gel to make up for a missed dosage.
A pea-sized amount is recommended and should be applied daily at night. For best results, you should not stop using Treclin on experiencing improvement in your acne, but rather you should keep going as long as your doctor tells you to. Sometimes treatment takes up to 12 weeks. If it lasts for more than that, contact your doctor.
You can skip the missed Treclin dose and go straight to the next one if you forget a dosage. You don't have to double your dosage to make up the one you missed.
Side effects can occur if you take in more Treclin gel than recommended. If these side effects persist, consult your doctor. Treclin gel should never be used in excess. Overdosing will not speed up the results but causes skin irritation.
