Non Invasive Prenatal Screening for You Babys Health
VERACITY is a new generation non-invasive prenatal test (NIPT) for detecting foetal chromosomal aneuploidies and microdeletions. It employs unique technologies based on cutting-edge research and development in Molecular Genetics and Diagnostics.
VERACITY was created by a world-class scientific team with over 25 years of combined expertise in prenatal diagnostics, molecular medicine, genomics, transcriptomics, methylomics, and bioinformatics. It uses novel Targeted Enrichment Technology to identify aneuploidy and assess foetal fraction with unrivalled precision. Using our patented genomic and bioinformatics tools, we collect, enrich, and analyse targeted areas on specified chromosomes and chromosomal regions for the identification of aneuploidies and microdeletions.
VERACITY can accurately detect trisomies such as; Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome and Patau syndrome. It also tests for syndromes caused by sex chromosome aneuploidies and microdeletions as well as the option to know the gender of the baby.
VERACITY's great accuracy has been established in various clinical validation trials involving hundreds of samples. VERACITY is quick, with findings available to you within a few days of the blood sample arriving at the laboratory.
VERACITY is a safe test for both mother and the fetus because it is performed using a simple 10ml blood sample.
WHY IS VERACITY BETTER THAN THE CURRENT NHS COMBINED TEST?
The traditional prenatal screening test is now known as the combination test. This is an ultrasound scan and blood test to determine nuchal translucency (NT). This is substantially less accurate than Veracity and only detects about 85% of newborns with Down syndrome.
The Veracity test has a higher detection rate (>99%) than the current combined test offered to pregnant women. This means that fewer pregnant women will undergo unnecessary invasive follow-up procedures such as amniocentesis or CVS which are stressful, painful and can carry a small risk of miscarriage.
Please note when the kit arrives you will need to arrange your bloods to be taken at any phlebotomist centre local to you the costs are generally around £20 - £40* we will fully refund you the cost of this.
