Why People Use It

Dealing with piles can be painful, uncomfortable, and frankly exhausting. Scheriproct Ointment 30g is a trusted prescription-strength treatment that tackles haemorrhoids from two angles at once. It contains prednisolone, a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling, combined with cinchocaine, a local anaesthetic that numbs pain and eases soreness in the affected area.  It works on both internal and external piles, giving fast, targeted relief from itching, burning, and discomfort that makes everyday life difficult.

How to Use

Apply the ointment at least twice daily morning and night after gently washing and drying the area. On the first day, you may apply it up to 3–4 times for faster initial relief.  For external use, squeeze a small amount onto your finger and spread gently. For internal use, attach the applicator to the tube, fill it with one dose, and insert carefully into the anus. Do not rub the ointment in.  Always wash your hands before and after application.

Things to Keep in Mind

Do not use this ointment for more than 7 days. If symptoms haven't improved after a week, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. The ointment may reduce the effectiveness of latex condoms, so alternative contraception should be considered during treatment.  Avoid covering the treated area with a waterproof dressing.

Warnings

Do not use Scheriproct Ointment if you are allergic to prednisolone, cinchocaine, or any listed ingredient. It should not be used if you have untreated viral, bacterial, or fungal infections such as herpes, shingles, or chickenpox. Consult your doctor before using if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.  This product is intended for use by adults aged 18 years and above only.

Possible Side Effects

Most people tolerate this ointment well. Side effects are uncommon but may include irritation or burning at the application site, skin thinning with prolonged use, and allergic reactions such as rash or swelling.  Stop using immediately and seek medical advice if you experience facial swelling, breathing difficulty, or signs of a severe allergic reaction.

Storage

Store Scheriproct Ointment below 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the product after the expiry date shown on the packaging. Dispose of the tube 4 weeks after it has been opened.

Active Ingredients

Prednisolone hexanoate 1.9mg per 1g and cinchocaine hydrochloride 5mg per 1g. 

Other Ingredients

Macrogol-400-monoricinoleate, castor oil (hydrogenated), castor oil (refined), 2-octyldodecanol, perfume oil, and Chypre.
