The first ingredient in Proctosedyl Suppositories, Cinchocaine hydrochloride is a local anaesthetic and works by numbing in the area where it is applied helping stop the pain and spasms. The second Proctosedyl Suppositories active ingredient Hydrocortisone, belongs to a group of medicines called corticosteroids and works by decreasing inflammation, swelling, itching and any discharge. See more information on haemorrhoids here on theNHS website
Combined Effect
The combined action of these two ingredients provides fast and effective relief from hemorrhoid (piles) symptoms.
However, it's important to remember that Proctosedyl is for short-term use only (not more than 7 days) and should not be considered a cure for hemorrhoids.
If symptoms persist or worsen, it's important to consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.
