Neoclarityn is a second-generation antihistamine medication used primarily to relieve symptoms of allergies. It is an active metabolite of loratadine, which means that is is more effective and has fewer side effects than loratadine.

The normal beginning dose for adults and children of 12 years and above is 2 sprays in each nostril once a day. Once your symptoms are controlled you can decrease your dosage to 1 spray in each nostril once a day.

For children aged 6 to 11 years, the prescribed beginning dose is usually 1 spray in each nostril once a day. It can be increased to 2 sprays if the symptoms are particularly severe.

Shake the bottle vigorously with the cap on before using Avamys as the medicine is a thick suspension that only becomes a liquid when it’s shaken well, and it will only spray when it becomes a liquid.

Avamys, like any other medicine, may cause the following side effects, although not everyone gets them:

Nosebleeds;
Nasal ulceration, which may cause irritation or discomfort in your nose or streaks of blood when you blow your nose;
Headaches;
Nasal irritation;
Shortness of breath;
Pain, burning irritation, soreness or dryness in the inside of the nose; or
Small holes (perforations) in the ridge inside the nose that separates the nostrils.
