Take Naproxen at the lowest possible dose and for as short a time as you can to reduce stomach bleeding and other side effects. Do not vary your Naproxen dose than that prescribed by your doctor. Continue to take the medication as prescribed by your doctor for ongoing conditions like arthritis. The full benefits of this drug for arthritis may only be apparent after two weeks of continuous treatment.
You should take Naproxen only when you feel the pain. If you wait for the pain to get worse, the medication may not be as effective as it is at the beginning of the pain.
