Qvar should be taken on a daily basis in order to avoid breathing problems related to asthma. Qvar is not effective for treating an asthma attack and should not be used immediately. Your doctor will prescribe a quick-relief medication to help you if you have an asthma attack.
Beclomethasone is a medication that works in the lungs. It reduces swelling and irritation to the airways, making breathing easier.
Inhale the medication by mouth twice daily, or as directed by your doctor. Your age, your medical condition, and the response to therapy should all influence the dosage.
Wait at least one minute between the first and second puffs of medication if your doctor has prescribed it. You should wait at least 1 minute between each inhaler. This drug is a corticosteroid.
Rinse and gargle your mouth with water after every use to prevent dryness, hoarseness and yeast infections. After rinsing, spit out the water.
Keep track of how many inhalations were taken. The number of inhalations that you can take from the canister is indicated on the label. You should throw away the canister if you have used up all the medication. You should not wash the inhaler, or submerge it in water.
Regular use is key to maximizing the benefits of this medication. To ensure that you don't forget your medication, take it at the same time each day. You should not take more medication than your doctor has prescribed. This will not make your condition better. This will only increase the risk of side effects.
Your doctor may recommend that you stop taking this medication. You could get sicker if you stop taking the medication suddenly. Your doctor may ask you to reduce your medication gradually if you are forced to stop taking it.
The medication might start working within 24 hours. It may take up to 3 weeks for you to feel the full benefits of this medication. If your symptoms persist or get worse, talk to your doctor immediately.
