Maxalt Melt should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Stop taking Maxalt Melt if you feel you are experiencing migraines. Maxalt Melt tablets should be handled with dry hands. You can place it on your tongue, allow it to dissolve and then swallow it with your saliva. This medicine can be taken with or without water. Maxalt Melt can be taken with or without food. However, it works faster if the tablet is swallowed empty stomach.
Maxalt Melt tablets should not be broken or crushed. The individual wrapped tablets should be kept in the sealed outer pouch until you are ready to take your dose. Before you take your dose, carefully remove the tablet from its blister pack. You can use the tablets from a glass bottle. Keep them in the container until you are ready to take your dose. Between uses, keep the bottle closed tightly.
Maxalt Melt dosage for children aged 6-17 is 5 mg for patients less than 40kg and 10 mg for patients 40-plus.

Before you start taking Maxalt Melt, tell your doctor if:
you are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine or to any other medicine;
you experience symptoms such as wheezing, swelling of the face, tongue or throat, intense itching or severe skin rashes with previous treatment;
you are pregnant, trying to be pregnant or breastfeeding;
you have diabetes, heart failure, kidney disorder or liver disorder; or
you are taking any prescription, non-prescription or herbal medicine.
