Crestor or rosuvastatin is a medicine grouped as an HMG CoA reductase inhibitor that treats high cholesterol. It is combined with regular exercise and a doctor-approved diet. Crestor may cause muscle pain or tenderness, and signs of kidney problems, which include a change in the amount of your urine;

Crestor may cause liver problems; or

Crestor may cause yellowing of the skin or eyes, severe stomach pain, dark urine, persistent nausea, or vomiting.

Report to your doctor immediately if you experience any other side effects that you believe are linked with your use of Crestor.

Before you start taking Crestor, disclose to your doctor a complete list of allergies that you may have. Crestor may contain inactive ingredients that can trigger allergic reactions or other problems.

Disclose to your doctor about your medical history, especially if you ever had liver disease, kidney disease, or alcohol use.

Limit or avoid intake of alcoholic drinks.

The elderly are more sensitive to the side effects of Crestor, especially muscle problems.

Do not take Crestor without your doctor's approval if you are:

Pregnant or trying to be pregnant;
Breastfeeding; or
Taking another medicine or herbal product.
