Why People Use It
Celecoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute musculoskeletal pain.
Celecoxib Capsules works by selectively blocking COX-2 enzymes, which are responsible for producing prostaglandins that cause pain and swelling. Because of this targeted action, it is often used to manage inflammation while reducing some of the stomach irritation risk seen with traditional NSAIDs.
How to Use
Take capsules exactly as directed by your doctor. They are usually taken once or twice daily depending on the condition.
Swallow whole with water, preferably with food to reduce stomach discomfort. Do not crush or chew the capsules.
Dosage varies depending on the condition being treated and individual response.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Take the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration needed
- May take a few hours to start working for pain relief
- Avoid using with other NSAIDs unless advised by a doctor
- Inform your doctor if you have heart, kidney, or liver conditions
- Stay hydrated during use
Warnings
- Not suitable for people with severe heart disease or history of stroke (unless advised)
- May increase risk of cardiovascular events with long-term use
- Avoid in late pregnancy
- Use caution in patients with high blood pressure
- Stop use and seek medical help if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, or severe allergic reaction
Possible Side Effects
Most people tolerate celecoxib well, but some may experience:
- Indigestion or stomach discomfort
- Headache or dizziness
- Swelling in hands or feet
- Diarrhoea or nausea
- Increased blood pressure (in some cases)
Serious side effects are rare but require immediate medical attention.
Storage
Store below 25°C in a dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep in original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after expiry date.

Celecoxib (commonly available in 100mg or 200mg capsules)
Other Ingredients
Lactose monohydrate, sodium lauryl sulfate, povidone, gelatin capsule shell, titanium dioxide, and colouring agents.
