Bells Chesty Cough Oral Solution is an oral solution for the symptomatic relief of chesty coughs

Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years:
  • Take 5-10ml, 3-4 times daily.
  • Do not take more than 4 doses in any 24 hours. 

  • Active Ingredients: Each 5ml contains, Ipecacuanha Liquid Extract 98mcl, Glycerol 0.5ml.
  • Other Ingredients: Glucose, Sucrose, Citric Acid E330, Lemon Oil, Acetic Acid E260, Camphor, Ethylhydroxybenzoate E214, Propylhydroxybenzoate E216, Methylhydroxybenzoate E218, Amaranth E123, Ethanol and Purified Water.

Do not use Bell's Chesty Cough Oral Solution if you:
  • Are allergic to any of the ingredients.
  • Are in shock.
  • Are at risk of seizure.
  • Have blood circulation problems.
  • Have kidney, liver or heart problems.
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding unless on the advice of your doctor.
If you are taking other medicines check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Ipecacuanha Liquid Extract may interact with antiarrhythmic drugs.
  • If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars contact your doctor before using this medicinal product.
  • Bell's Chesty Cough Oral Solution contains 3.2g of sucrose per 10ml dose. This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus.
  • Bell's Chesty Cough Oral Solution contains small amounts of ethanol (alcohol) - less than 100mg per 10ml dose.
  • Bell's Chesty Cough Oral Solution contains E123, E214 E216 and E218 which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
  • Do not take with any other cough and cold medicines.
