Naproxen 250mg Period Pain Reliever Tablets are an over-the-counter medication used to relieve pain, inflammation, and discomfort associated with menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea), headaches, muscle pain, and minor arthritis pain. The active ingredient, naproxen, belongs to a class of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by blocking certain chemicals in the body that cause pain and inflammation, providing effective relief during periods and other painful conditions.
Naproxen Consumption Precautions
Do NOT use Naproxen Tablets if:
- You are allergic to naproxen or other NSAIDs.
- You have active stomach ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, or severe liver/kidney disease.
- You are in the third trimester of pregnancy.
Check with your doctor before using if:
- You have asthma, high blood pressure, heart disease, or a history of stomach ulcers.
- You are taking other medications such as blood thinners or corticosteroids.
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
How To Use Naproxen 250mg Tablets
- Take the dose recommended on the packaging or by your doctor, usually 1 tablet every 8–12 hours as needed.
- Swallow the tablet whole with water, preferably after food to reduce stomach upset.
- Do not exceed 3 tablets (750mg) in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor.
Warnings
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor.
- Seek medical advice if pain persists, worsens, or if you experience unusual symptoms such as stomach bleeding.
Possible Side Effects
Naproxen may cause side effects in some individuals, including:
- Stomach upset, nausea, or indigestion
- Dizziness or headache
- Rare allergic reactions or gastrointestinal bleeding
Storing Naproxen Tablets
- Store below 25ºC in a dry place.
- Keep the packaging tightly closed and out of reach of children.
- Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
