The capsule must be swallowed whole, with half a glass of water. The capsule should not be broken or chewed. The coated pellets in the capsule prevent the medication from being broken down by stomach acid. The pellets should not be damaged.
You or your child may have difficulty swallowing the capsule. The contents can also be put into a glass with still water, orange juice, or apple sauce. Mix the contents together and then drink half of the glass. Take the medicine in solid pieces. Do not crush, chew, or chew the solid parts.
You can skip taking Losec if you forget to do so. Just take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose of Losec, skip it and go on with the next one.
