EMLA Cream Consumption Precautions

Do NOT use EMLA Cream if:

You are allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, or any other ingredients in the cream.
You have severe skin conditions, broken skin, or infections at the application site.

Check with your doctor before using EMLA Cream if:

You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
You have heart, liver, or kidney problems.
You are applying the cream to large areas of skin or for prolonged periods.

How To Use EMLA Cream 5%

Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area and cover with the included dressing.
Leave in place for as advised by your doctor or instructions (usually 60 minutes) before the procedure.
Remove the dressing and wipe off the cream before the medical procedure.
Wash hands thoroughly after application.

Warnings

For external use only.
Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.
Do not use on infected, irritated, or broken skin unless advised by a doctor.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if instructed by a healthcare professional.

Possible Side Effects

EMLA Cream is generally well tolerated; however, some individuals may experience:

Mild redness, itching, or swelling at the application site
Numbness or tingling beyond the treated area
Rare allergic reactions

Storing EMLA Cream

Store below 25ºC in a dry place.
Keep tubes tightly closed and out of reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
