Adults are advised to take one tablet daily to prevent malaria. It should be taken 1 to 2 days before entering an area where malaria is rampant. It should continue for 7 days.

For malaria treatment, the usual adult dosage is four tablets per day for three days.

The doses of malaria prevention and treatment for children are determined based on their body weight.

Side effects of Atovaquone/Proguanil may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, nausea, stomach pains, vomiting, weakness, and stomach cramps.
